How To Create The Perfect Intimate Valentine’s Day Celebration With Your Significant Other

Valentine’s Day can mean various things to different couples. Some may want to go all out with flowers, candy, chocolates and balloons, while others prefer to keep things simple with a nice quiet evening at home.

With the COVID-19 pandemic still pretty prevalent in most parts of the country, you and your partner may feel safer celebrating Valentine’s Day in the comfort and safety of your own home this year, but that does not mean it won’t be just as special.

There are so many ways to create the most intimate setting for both of you right in your own home, and you’d be surprised just how far a little creativity can go. Whether you’re into rose petals and candlelight or takeout from your favourite restaurant and a bottle of bubbly, the options are endless.

Below, we’re providing you with some inspiration on ways in which you can make this coming Valentine’s Day a memorable one. Keep reading for more intimacy inspiration!

Go Big or Go Home, Literally!

There is no shame in going all out, even if it’s right in your living room. Feel free to have fun with Valentine-themed decor, candles, and you can even create a playlist filled with you and your partner’s favourite songs. Decorate together to spend even more time together, surprise them, and have it all set up ahead of time. Remember this is supposed to be fun, so don’t stress if things aren’t perfect. You and your partner will have an amazing time just being together, but who doesn’t love a little attention to detail now and then?!

Bonus Tip: If you want to take the fun to the next level, check out one of our recent blog posts on Romantic Looks for Valentine’s Day. Whether you’re getting dressed up or dressed down (literally), this is another great way to add an intimate touch to your date.

Indulge, Indulge, Indulge

What better occasion than Valentine’s Day to give in to all of your favourite indulgences? Treating yourself, and your partner, during your date, can come in many different forms. For example, there is the ability to indulge in your favourite food or drink. The two of you can also indulge in some pampering by giving each other a relaxing massage. Regardless of the route you take, be sure to choose something that would be out of the ordinary for you to do regularly.

There is nothing too simple or too extreme; it really just depends upon your preference. You may opt to order takeout from an expensive restaurant or go the alcohol delivery route and have your bubbly brought to your door. No matter what indulgence tickles your fancy, remember not to feel guilty for splurging more than you usually would, you’re both worth it!

Heat Things Up in The Kitchen

We recently shared this blog post on easy and delicious meals you can make at home with your Valentine, so why not put some of those recipes to the test? Cooking is an extremely intimate activity. When you’re in the kitchen with the one you love, you can connect on a level you probably didn’t know existed. Working together to create a dish can be both sensual and fun. Once you decide on a meal that excites both your tastebuds, grab the ingredients and get to work.

Play some music, listen to a podcast, or enjoy one another’s company. You can also mix up a Valentine-themed cocktail while you cook, or nibble on a few appetizers to hold you over until the meal is ready. Feel free to be playful and have fun with this experience, and when you’re done, you’ll be able to sit down together and enjoy the fruits of your labour!

Staying at home this Valentine’s Day may not be an ideal option for some, but for those who prefer the comforts of home, it works out perfectly. With a little creativity and imagination, you can enjoy an intimate date with your Valentine without having to travel further than the four walls surrounding you. No matter how you spend the day or night, remember, it’s all about the love your share for each other!
