One of my favourite parts about matchmaking and working with busy single entrepreneurs is planning the perfect fall date ideas for our clients. As singles struggle with dating in a pandemic, we’re busy planning fun fall date ideas for our couples. Date planning and date concierge services are included in all of our matchmaking programs.
We believe date nights should always be a priority regardless of the weather or if you’re dating in a global pandemic. Just because the weather is getting cooler, it doesn’t mean date night has to fizzle out. Getting creative with where to go and what to do can lead to headaches and unnecessary bickering. Going out and spending quality time with your partner doesn’t have to break the bank either. Think warm, cosy and local! Put on a warm fall jacket, a toque, bring a blanket, maybe some hot coffee, mulled wine to go and enjoy each other’s company in the crisp clean air. We love creating fall date ideas to help connect our clients in real life, making dating during a pandemic a lot more bearable.
Here are our 12 fall date night ideas to keep your weekends or weeknights busy:
1.Adventure Challenge – Couples edition book
This is a perfect fall date idea! If you haven’t seen this all over social media, then we’re excited to be the first to introduce you to this Adventure Challenge! This “Couples Edition” adventure challenge book has pages of secret date night ideas. It’ll give details like how much money you will need, what time to start, and even a slot to add a cute polaroid photo of you and your date. How cute is this?? Not only does it give you fantastic adventure ideas, you and your partner can also keep the book as a forever keepsake. Also, if you like this date idea, you can create a home made version of this date idea by making your own date challenges. Cross things off your bucket list together and make sure to capture it by taking photos.
2. Plan A Fall Picnic
Did you know that picnic dates are the perfect fall date idea and not just a seasonal date idea? You can have a picnic indoors or outdoors. For the Fall, we recommend to take advantage of the cold air and colourful backdrop. Prepare your favourite snacks together, dress warm and bring a blanket to the nearest park or your own backyard if you’re quarantining together. Not only will there be lots of cuddling, nature lover’s will enjoy the fresh air and outdoors together. As the winter weather approaches you can take this date idea indoors.
3. Try An Outdoor Drive-In Movie
Hit up your local drive-in movie theatre. Our family recently attended a socially distanced birthday party at an outdoor drive-in. The family brought pre-packed snack bags, glow in the dark sticks and even delivered a hot personalized pizza to each vehicle! A drive-in date is an ideal social distance date idea with your date, and there’s something romantic about being alone in the car together. The closeness, sharing food, drinks and watching a movie outdoors and in your car is a nice change up from the typical “Netflix and Chill.”Not only are you supporting your local theatre, but you’ll also get to watch your favourite old school films or a new feature.
4. Build A Backyard Bonfire
Enjoy the outdoor space that’s only steps away—no need to drive or take public transportation anywhere. Sometimes we can take what we have for granted. Set up a bonfire in your backyard with some mulled wine or smores kit. If you live in an apartment or condo, take two chairs outside and watch the stars together on your balcony!
5. Take a Hike – Literally
Hiking might be the most reasonable, budget-friendly date ideas. Many of our private matchmaking clients are choosing hikes as their first date. In a short drive or bike ride, you can take your date to different hiking trails. It’s is a great way to get your steps in and enjoy the most gorgeous views nature can give you. Bring a backpack filled with goodies so that you can find a spot to settle and enjoy the breathing landscape. Make sure you bring a garbage bag to dispose of any garbage you may have.
6. Visit a Local Farmer’s Market
There are so many quaint markets in the city. You can Google a few local markets, fairs or outdoor events in your area. As matchmakers, we call in advance to make sure the markets are open, and the hours posted are accurate. Dating during a pandemic means things are not always the same based on Google reviews. Since social distancing is better outside, hit up an outdoor event to support your local vendors. You’ll be able to meet your local and shop for speciality items, foods and services. Many vendors typically have a sale or special promotion for people who visit their booth. Make sure you see if there are any contests a vendor may be hosting where you’ll be able to win something for free! I mean, who doesn’t love free stuff!
7. Plan a Fun Photoshoot
Plan an outdoor photoshoot with your partner! It’s the perfect opportunity for you to take some great new Instagram worthy photos or help your partner with their next LinkedIn profile picture. Dress up and put on some fall accessories to complement the fantastic autumn background. Be mindful of the weather (strong winds) and how sunny it is outside. Use a tripod to be able to snap photos together too.
8. Visit a Corn Maze or Local Farm
You may think that this is a typical fall activity. But there is a reason why everyone goes to visit these local hot spots! Many corn mazes or farms set up the fields to make it photo-ready. Take advantage of all of the activities. You’ll probably be surprised at all the things you can do outdoors and all the unexpected fun you can have. Pick up some freshly picked corn with a side of a seasonal pumpkin spice latte to share with your partner.
9. Visit a Haunted House
What’s a better way to catch some thrill and snuggle up with your date? Visit a haunted house and appreciate the spookiness of these haunting Halloween traditions. These attractions have been around for decades, and each year, they get better and more creative. There are tons of different scary attractions, ranging from fun houses that are age-appropriate for the little ones to actual haunted houses that hold a deep dark tale.
10. Go For a “No Destination” Ride
Want something super spontaneous? Need a few more perfect fall date ideas? Pack some snacks, water, warm clothes and your camera (or phone) and hop into your car. Turn off the GPS and keep driving until you see something interesting enough for a pit stop! This spontaneous ride can spark some new feels because of the unknown. Be sure to snap some photos to document your “no destination” car ride!
11. Glamp it
Are you looking for a weekend getaway? Many Airbnbs and Camping grounds are still open during the pandemic. However, the number of guests is limited. It’s the perfect outdoor romantic couple’s weekend getaway for nature lovers. Explore the possibility of renting some cabins, building tents or log homes to get away with your partner for the entire weekend!
12. Explore Another City
Is there a town or city you haven’t been to in a long time? Revisit an area outside of your home and see what it has to offer. It could be a day trip or an overnight trip. You’ll be surprised at how many things you can see, visit, eat or do if you do a little bit of research! We hope you enjoyed our list of perfect fall date ideas for you to enjoy ❤️
